It was such a pleasure to work with LJMU - and to see so many happy students was the cherry on top.
The Liverpool John Moores University Graduate Futures project team were already a little behind their start date.
Even with this in mind, we proudly exceeded their initial project KPIs and brought opportunities to 1000+ students.
The client
A university project with the power to transform careers and boost local businesses. Sounds exciting, right? That's exactly what Liverpool John Moores University's Graduate Futures project set out to do. And when they needed a marketing boost, they turned to us at The Nice Exchange.
Backed by the European Social Fund, Graduate Futures gave students and recent grads a leg up in their careers.
But that's not all - it also offered SMEs across Liverpool a chance to tap into fresh graduate talent with part-funded employment and internship opportunities.
The brief
The Graduate Futures team had a fantastic program on their hands, but they were facing a bit of a hurdle. They didn't have the in-house expertise or time to get the word out and drum up interest among students, graduates, and SMEs. With a late start and tough competition, they needed a strong marketing strategy that delivered results.
The solution
At The Nice Exchange, we love a good challenge. We put our heads together and came up with a multichannel marketing approach that would make Graduate Futures impossible to ignore. Here's what we cooked up:
We crafted eye-catching content for Facebook and Instagram to catch the attention of LJMU students and recent grads. For the SMEs, we turned to LinkedIn, the ultimate B2B playground.
We didn't stop at organic reach. Our paid media strategy on Meta platforms used scroll-stopping creatives and laser-focused targeting to reach the right audiences.
We designed a series of email campaigns that would nurture the client's email list and get more people involved in the program. Each email was tailored specifically for LJMU students, with clear calls to action that were hard to resist.
We didn't just deliver a campaign and call it a day. We became the go-to marketing gurus for the Graduate Futures team, regularly meeting with them and participating in project steering boards. We were there every step of the way, offering advice and support whenever they needed it.
We're proud to say that the project smashed targets and then some!
Over 1,000 students, recent graduates, and SMEs from across the LCR participated in the project, catching up with the project KPIs set by the ESF team.
Paid ads distributed as a part of the project maintained a 6% average click-through rate, beating industry benchmarks.
The Graduate Futures project was such a success that it became a template for similar projects on the LJMU horizon.
What set our approach apart? It wasn't just about flashy ads or clever emails. It was our commitment to truly understanding our client's needs and becoming an integral part of their team.
